Key Accountabilities: 

 

​​​​​​​Role puirpose: To research, plan, develop and deliver a wide range of public programs at NMoQ in and off-site venues.

  • Research and assess existing informal educational and cultural offers for the public in Qatar to better position NMoQ education in targeting this market.

•    Develop, schedule and conduct programs, classes, workshops and other presentations for youth, families, and other adult groups.
•    Develop written plans for various projects
•    Develop orientated resources and programmes that highlight the stories and objects of the NMoQ.
•    Plan and direct all programming initiatives for the museum’s indoor and outdoor play areas.
•    Identify and liaise with community groups in efforts to create partnership working with NMoQ.
•    Represent and speak for issues relating to families and communities within the Learning and Outreach department and at cross-departmental level.
•    Create monthly a report of programs and attendance.
•    Manage all artists and educators working on the family and outreach education programme.
•    Identify and recruit freelance staff in the delivery of public programmes.
•    Supervise volunteers, students, and freelance staff involved in events and activities.
•    Assess annual budget needs for public programming.
•    Report on end of year spending for all public programs projects.
•    Co-ordinate all correspondence internally and with external stakeholders.
•    Write and submit regular evaluation reports on all family and outreach projects.
•    Undertake staff reviews on assistant posts.

 

Qualifications/Requirements: 

 

• B.A. in Art or Humanities. in education or cultural studies.

• M.A./M.F.A in Art or Humanities – desirable but not essential.

• 3 years working in either the formal or informal education sector with families and/or diverse audiences.

• In-depth knowledge of the informal learning sector in Qatar with particular emphasis on family education.

• Awareness, and ideally, experience of working with diverse cultural groups in Qatar.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
