Key Accountabilities: 

 

Role purpose: The Curator provides expertise on the Museum’s collections, proposes and implements acquisitions corresponding to the strategy (including acquisitions related to Asia but not exclusively), curates exhibitions and manages publications. The Curator participates in the different activities of prefiguration of the museum.

Roles & responsibilities:   

  • Conceptualizes and executes all aspects of project development and implementation at the highest professional standards, including research, writing, presentations, budgeting, and coordination with project stakeholders.
  • Participates in the conception and implementation of the museum architectural programming and museography.
  • Makes acquisition recommendations based on research for objects or collections of interest to Art Mill Museum.
  • Provides documentation for the collection.
  • Participates in panels, discussions, conferences.
  • Develops ideas and resources for public program and education.
  • Writes essays for exhibition catalogues, scholarly articles for internal and external publications.  
  • Attends conferences and networks with external museums and curators.
  • Represents the museum in all activities in public domain in line with museum vision and mission.  
Qualifications/Requirements: 
  • MA in History of Art, Museum or Curatorial Studies. 
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Excellent language skills in English 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office.
  • Proof of independent research, publications and articles with respected journals and institutions.      
  • Proof of academic papers presented at international conferences.
  • Proof of exhibition development and delivery as sole curator
