About the Job: 

Role Purpose is to plan and deliver effective public relation campaigns and information dissemination programs that establish and enhance QM’s desired image that leads to increase awareness of the QM among the public, staff and media locally, regionally, and internationally, also, responsible for developing and operating financial budget for Communications department

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES :

1. Planning & Direction

  • Develops the PR and media strategy for QM and it’s museums
  • Works with direct reports to identify and establish medium to short term strategic priorities and targets, in line with QM’s policies and guidelines and ensures their successful execution
  • Champions initiatives that enables maximum output that fully contributes to the delivery of Division goals
  • Leads policies and procedures review to identify areas of improvement within own function and recommends changes leading to best-practice operations and compliance with legislative standards and guidelines
  • Provides Senior Management with regular reports with analysis and comments on performance and results
  • Manage external PR resources

2.  Public Relations

  • Be a strategist and an operator, managing multiple internal & external campaigns to build awareness and passion for QM brand, enhancing the visibility and public perception and reputation of QM
  • Develop and execute strategic PR plans.
  • Create an overall messaging strategy for all communication tools including online, media, and social media platforms.
  • Directs and co-ordinates the delivery of public relations and information activities through a program of personal contacts, visits, multi media releases, publications distribution, editorials and relevant lobbying to facilitate the achievement of QM objectives
  • Acts as the sole focal point for handling of all local, regional and international media enquiries and requests for information to ensure consistency, co-ordination, accuracy and integrity of responses
  • Works closely with Directors and other senior managers on key messages for staff, the press, and at critical high level events
  • Approves the research, writings and distribution of press releases to targeted media
  • Directs the organization of media events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours
  • Oversees a broad range of staff communications to ensure senior management messages and QM activities are communicated well internally
  • Oversees/evaluate the media filming and photography of QM venues

3.  Stakeholders

  • Builds working relationships with media outlets (print media, broadcast, production houses etc…)
  • Plans, supervises and participates in social activities and special events for staff to express management appreciation of efforts, promote team spirit, and a sense of commitment
  • Attends conferences, meetings and seminars in order to remain abreast of industry trends and latest developments
  • Work closely with corporate partners; Government communication office, QTA .. etc to achieve QM objectives.

4.  Talent Management

  • Motivates staff and empowers direct reports by providing the necessary tools and support required to meet business goals
  • Establishes clear direction, prioritizes tasks, assigns and delegates responsibility; monitors individual performance, provides regular feedback and takes prompt action where necessary
  • Builds opportunities for staff members to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives
  • Provides guidance and ensures staff members comply with QM’s policies, processes, practices and systems
About The Applicant: 

-       Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism / Communication / Art or related field.  Master’s Degree preferred

-       Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience managing a Public Relations department of a multinational company or museum

-       Deep knowledge of PR and media sector locally, regionally and internationally

-       Strong communication skills

-      Strong writing and public speaking skills
